Scotland’s Autumn delights in a campervan rentalPosted on: October 3, 2016
Did you know that Scotland was voted one of the best places in the world to see autumn leaves by Lonely Planet? The leaves are just starting to turn, and the show will go on through October, so why not treat yourself to an end of the summer holiday around Scotland in a campervan rental?
Here are some of our favourite spots to catch the brilliant technicolour fall show of Scotland in a campervan rental.
Loch Lomond and Trossachs- This fabled loch and forest area is stunning no matter where you take your campervan rental, and it’s not very far from Edinburgh. We love the Drum Wood trail, or, for a more adventurous trek, there is the Mell Circuit, where you will be rewarded with an absolutely fantastic view
Queen’s View, Loch Tummel – located west of beautiful Pitlochry is a gorgeous viewpoint where Queen Victoria herself picnicked. Enjoy the waymarked trails or a cycle ride, along with the luxury of your self-contained motorhome rental.
Crieff and Comrie, Perthshire – the autumn leaves displays in this beautiful area will take your breath away. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a walk through the woods, with several trails, including St Mary’s Walk, the Knock and Glen Lednock.
The Hermitage, Dunkeld – this National Trust for Scotland park boasts hardwood and Douglas fir trees, which really put on a show at this time of year. Look for colourful mushrooms on the forest floor, not to mention red squirrels and cheeky wild pheasants.
Glen Affric- This is a lovely spot to tour in a campervan any time of year, but the reds, browns, golds and oranges of the autumn season will blow you away.
