Where do I collect the campervan from?
We are based in Whitecraig on the outskirts of Edinburgh, a 20-minute car journey from Edinburgh Airport and a 10-minute train journey from Edinburgh Waverley station.
Can you meet us at the airport with the campervan?
Our campervans can only be collected and returned to our depot in Whitecraig.
How long is the journey from Edinburgh to your depot?
From Edinburgh Airport
If arriving by car or taxi, it is a 20 to 25-minute journey.
If traveling by public transport, we recommend allowing 1 ½ hours – 2 hours to arrive to our depot.
If you have booked a transfer with us, a member of our team will meet you outside the arrivals gate with a sign bearing your name.
From Edinburgh City Centre
If travelling by train we recommend the 10-minute train journey from Edinburgh Waverley to Wallyford train station, where we offer a complimentary transfer to our depot.
If travelling by bus please allow 1 – 1 ½ hours to arrive at our depot.
If you have booked a transfer with us, we will collect you from your hotel or stated address.
What is the earliest and latest time I can collect or return my campervan?
All campervan collection times are pre-scheduled between the afternoon hours of 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm. The collection time will be confirmed by email 3 weeks prior to your hire by email and is subject to availability and on a first come first served basis.
Due to our campervans returning in the morning we do not offer morning collections We are very busy between the hours of 9.00 am and 11.30 am making sure that all of our returning clients get to their flight, train, or hotel on time. All hires are priced on a nightly basis similar to a hotel booking.
My flight lands into Edinburgh Airport after 6pm, can I still collect my campervan?
In our experience any clients arriving on flights into Edinburgh airport after 4.30 pm would not be in time to collect their campervan at Roseisle taking into account, baggage reclaim, customs and the taxi journey to our depot.
Any client booking a flight that arrives into Edinburgh on or after 4.30 pm in the afternoon, should make their booking for the next day. We can offer assistance with collection at Wallyford train station the next day in time to collect the campervan from 1.00 pm in the afternoon. We can also help with booking local hotels close to our Whitecraig depot and transfers from the airport on the day of the flight arrival.
How long will it take for you to hand our campervan over to us?
From your arrival to leaving we recommend allowing 1 hour.
When you arrive, we will go through your rental agreement, check your vehicle for damage together and then show you how everything works inside your campervan.
How long does returning our campervan take?
From your arrival to leaving we recommend allowing 30 minutes. Upon your return, will check your vehicle for damage and take a signature to close our agreement.

We would recommend that you pack light, layer your clothes for weather changes and bringing insect repellent.

Can I bring and use a hairdryer and straighteners in the van?
We recommend bringing electrical equipment specific for travelling. This is because home electrical items are too powerful, they may trip the electrical circuit or possibly damage the van. We recommend low wattage specific items for travelling i.e. travel toaster or travel hairdryer. Electrical sockets inside your campervan will only work when you are connected to an electrical hook up.
Do I have to stay in campsites?
At Roseisle we recommend that you choose to stay in campsites, which overall is better for the environment and sustains the local economy. However in Scotland you may find that you can “wildcamp” this is when you are parked freely in a rural location without connection to electricity. Please refer to the Scottish Access Code and follow the Road Traffic Act to follow guidelines.
In England and Wales wildcamping is strictly prohibited and you should only park where it is legal to do so.
Should I book campsites in advance?
We would recommend booking campsites in advance, especially during peak season which runs from June to August. This is especially important if you like to have the comfort of extra facilities. You can find a listing of all campsites in Scotland on the following web sites:-

Travel to Europe and The Republic of Ireland are not permitted in a Roseisle campervan for insurance reasons. You can travel to mainland UK and the UK’s surrounding islands only.

In all of our campervans there is a 2 ring gas burner only. In our larger Deluxe motorhomes there is a 3 ring gas burner, oven and a grill. We do not fit microwaves in any of our fleet.

Customers aged 70-74 have to be UK Residents and hold a clean driving licence.
