Life’s a beach…in a campervan hire!Posted on: July 10, 2016
Scotland has some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, so why not explore them in a campervan hire this summer? Over the next few weeks we will take a look at some of our favourite beach spots in Scotland, where azure waters lap against sugary sands and you can lose yourself to ultimate peace and tranquility.
Sanna Bay, Ardnamurchan- If you want to truly get away from it all, then Sanna Bay on the tip of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula offers one of the most remote and spectacular beach experiences in Scotland. Forget about crowds, you may well have the beach all to yourself! It’s a bit of a trek to reach- 30 miles along a single track road, but that’s no problem to manoeuvre in your campervan hire, just take your time and enjoy the stunning drive across an extinct volcanic landscape, now clothed in purple heather.
Park your campervan hire at Britain’s western most campsite, where you will feel as if you escaped civilisation- but you’ll have the best of both worlds, ensconced in comfort with all the amenities of home, what could be better? Explore dunes and rock formations, look for swooping sea eagles and playful otters, and do some frolicking yourself in the tranquil rock pools that dot the bay. Climb the rocks for stunning views over Isle of Skye, Muck, Eigg, Rhum and Canna- that alone is worth the drive! Visit the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, which has a lovely tea room. Nearby Kilchoan has a shop to keep you stocked up on supplies, as well as the ferry terminal to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, in case you are up for a bit of island hopping.
Let our team get you on the road in a luxury motorhome hire and discover far flung sites off the beaten path for the ultimate beach getaway in Scotland!
